pop pop music 粉丝的素描 [the profile of a pop pop music's fan]

we will never pack stadiums but we are just as happy packing bentley and NBT

the year 2011 was the significant year as we saw a surge in our fan base, after the 6 live concerts we did in bentley, ipoh and melaka and a couple of sell-out gigs in NBT.

we get to know the profile of our supporters more in depth and this augurs well for us as we expand, for it allows us to do a better and more focused target marketing. yes, we spend a lot of money and thoughts in marketing, branding and positioning.

the below profile of a fan may surprise many but  hey, we know him better and better.

he is...

1) of the aged 35-60 (well, there are really young ones in their 20s but they are minority)
2) earns well above RM5K a month
3) has no prejudice against local talents and local recordings (he does not worship foreign talents but give fair chance to local talents)
4) has no prejudice against cover versions. (because he knows jazz is all about doing covers and improvisations)
5) 70% english-educated, 20% bilingual and 10% chinese-educated
6) loves live music and hangs out in NBT, alexis, nero fico, DFP
7) open-minded, liberal and accepts all forms of music with creativity and modern touches
8) enjoys fine dining and all the good things in life
9) wants to see a local music label going international and make malaysians proud

and lastly,

10) when they buy our albums (they have all the titles), they buy in multiples to give to and influence their friends!
